| Ethiopian troops kill civilians in Ogadenia Aug 21, 2006, 20:40 Ethiopian soldiers gunned down 4 civilians, including 1 woman, inside Zone 5, a Somali-inhabited region in eastern Ethiopia. No motive was provided for the murder of civilians, but one witness said Ethiopian troops battled ONLF rebels in the outskirts of Aado, a city in Wardheer region, on that same day. The Ethiopians killed the 4 civilians upon their return from the battlefield. The ONLF movement has been fighting the Ethiopian government with the aim of achieving self-determination for Ogadenia, a popular name for Zone 5.
